Customer Impact
In 8.2.0 we introduced a regression which is further discussed here: #5501. This PR will fix that regression so that when people move to 8.2.1 they won't hit this problem any longer.
Testing
We have done manual testing to ensure this won't be a problem any longer for partners still usign the 8.1.0 AppHost package, and we added automation tests as well to catch this regression.
Risk
Low. Fixing a regression. Peaople that will be impacted by this are already in a broken state.
