Columns now have another optional attribute p, as specified here: https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/reference#methods (search for 'cols Property')
The p attribute is the way to define all sorts of visualization-specific custom behavior. My actual need is to define a tooltip column as HTML (see https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/customizing_tooltip_content#customizing-html-content).
