My position here is that age verification is a niche within this space, and not necessarily even in that space. I understand that some major actors have concluded that digital credentials are a necessary part of any response to a particular aspect of online child protection, but this is not a consensus position.

My suggestion would be to not engage on this aspect and leave that debate to other, more targeted pieces. (I have to say that Soatok's writing is generally very good; I almost took the preceding post and may yet do so.)
