spark UI/status improvement

when you click start:
1) the configs form should become read-only, and the "start" button becomes deactive.
2) after connection succeeds, leave the form up and read-only.  the status display should appear above it.
3) if the connection fails, display the error msg, and the form becomes editable and the button becomes clickable.
