Can WorkflowLayout be replaced by WorkflowViewStub?

Why can't I just use WorkflowViewStub directly as the content view of an Activity? Why is WorkflowLayout anything more than an extension function on WorkflowViewStub, if even that/

If WorkflowLayout really is necessary, that seems to imply that something is wrong with our bootstrap API.

No it can't, because of its view persistence work. But that's okay, it's a very thin wrapper around the stug.
