Can it be used for web backend business?

In addition to building Android UI projects, can this project be used for Spring Web projects to build backend business logic processes, such as shopping carts, placing orders, and sending emails？

I don't know anything about Spring Web but I don't see why not. The runtime modules are completely platform agnostic and have no UI code. So long as you have a hook to keep a continous CoroutineScope running it should work.

There's no technical reason you couldn't use workflow on the backend, although since web servers typically have to support a large number of clients with a more distributed architecture, it might not scale well. I imagine you'd need to keep each client's session tied to the single server running the workflow runtime for that client, but keeping all that state only in server memory means you wouldn't be able to recover the session state if that server went down. It's been a while since I've done production web dev but I think that's not ideal.

As to spring web specifically, I also don't know anything about it either but as long as you can run coroutines you can use workflow.
