The current terminal-based utility for Google's Gemini models lacks a crucial feature present in the web interface: the "Grounding with Google Search" toggle, found within the "Run settings" panel (as shown in the provided screenshot). This toggle enables/disables Gemini's ability to use Google Search to ground its responses in real-time information, improving accuracy and trustworthiness. Without this feature, the terminal utility is significantly less useful, especially when dealing with queries requiring up-to-date information.
