Can I please BUY the app?

I've donated via "buyme coffee", and the app was still interrupting quicklooks to request for donation. That was kind of fine, but the latest update has also disabled the ability to remove watermarks at the bottom.

I don't know what's the business model of this app, but please just let me PAY for the app and buy it, so I don't get interrupted like this.

Update: My mistake, the way to turn off the watermark is to turn off "Show about info".

Still, I would appreciate the option to just buy this app to get rid of the donation interruptions, and I'm fine if there are paid updates in future.

What do you mean by interruption?

This is what I mean by interruption: Once in a while, the quicklook stops working. Instead, it will show a message saying this is how many times the app has been used, ask me to make a donation, and then say that quicklook will work again if I quicklook another document. Basically, it's a reminder to make a donation, that disrupt my workflow because it temporarily prevent me from performing quicklook. I did make a donation through buymecoffee (something like that), and this donation message still pops up.

If this is a bug, then I would like to make everyone aware of this bug, because it IS a problem. I would love to be able to just BUY the product, and not keep getting annoyed with this kind of interruption.

The nag screen should only appear once every 100 file previews. If it appears more often, it could be a bug, but so far no one has reported it.

Ok, so this is the problem I'm referring to. This nag screen is popping up every 100 previews, asking for donation, even after user has already given donation. And the nagging is frequent enough that it is annoying, because that's what it's designed to do: to cause enough interruption with nagging so that the user make a donation.

Can you PLEASE just let the user BUY the app, and get rid of the nag screen? I don't understand the funding/monetization model of this app, because: (1) user cannot buy the app, so they can never own it (2) the app will always ask for donation to generate continuous revenue. The only other "product" that works like this are CHURCHES and religious institutions, where users are nagged to make continuous donations.

I was hoping this was just a bug, but if the nag screen is really designed to be a permanent feature of the app, then it IS a problem ... at least for me. For all the good that this app has done for me (and I will gladly make another donation to show my appreciation), I do not want to support this kind of funding model.

This screen was introduced a few releases ago, and I'm sorry you've only just stumbled upon this warning message.

The donation request is purely optional and free of charge. I never indicated that a donation would purchase the app or unlock features or anything else. In fact, it's called a donation, not a purchase.
Frankly, I don't have the time to implement a "full" paid version and a "free" version with a nag screen or limited features. I've already made the credit line at the bottom of the page easily removable with a flag. Perhaps in a future version I'll increase the number of files for the nag screen, or better yet, keep the nag screen only for those who have disabled the display of the credit line. A small acknowledgement of pride for an app that may not be particularly revolutionary, but that much better programmers than me weren't willing/able to develop and make freely available to the entire community.
The app is here, with source code that anyone can freely use and modify, and I think that's an extraordinary gift, considering it's been downloaded 138,000 times so far!

I am infinitely grateful to those who supported this project and my others (120 people, with over 230,000 downloads and about 5k stars of my three apps).

1. First of all, my critique of the funding model is not a dig at the value of the app, or that I don't appreciate the app. Like I said, I've already made my donation, and I don't regret supporting the the work. But speaking only for myself ... there IS a limit when I've already supported the app, and I'm still getting nagged. I think we should be able to voice what our limits are, and that doesn't mean we're ungrateful.
2. I really prefer to not fork this project, and would rather keep supporting your work. But I hope I am clear on where I stand on this funding practice: I disagree with forcing nag screens on donors (or turning on nag screen if donors turn off credit line). However, I understand that you're trying to balance between: (1) The need to keep overhead low by managing one version of the app only (2) The need to get acknowledgement for the great work that you do.

You're the developer, and you should do what you feel is right for you and the community. I'm just doing my part by giving feedback on what I think might be a problem to address.
