Feature Request: Add Vertical Line (I-beam) Cursor Option

Currently the terminal only supports a block cursor █. I'd like to request an option to use a vertical line cursor|(I-beam) instead, as it's less visually intrusive and makes it easier to see the characters around the insertion point.
Could you add a configuration option to switch between cursor styles (block vs line)? Many modern terminals offer this choice, and the vertical line cursor is preferred by many users for better text visibility.

Right now I'm achieving this by running echo -e -n "\x1b[\x36 q" but I have to do this manually each session. It would be great to have this as a built-in configuration option that applies at startup.
