As July draws to a close, I'm sharing this month's Copilot highlights with you. It's been an incredibly productive month with a wave 🌊 of new features, improvements, and community engagement.

The length of this roundup reflects just how much we've accomplished together in July! (even though this is supposed to be a quick round-up 😅) From significant Coding Agent enhancements to expanded IDE support and your valuable feedback, there's a lot to celebrate. We've focused on delivering improvements that help you code more efficiently and creatively ---> because that's what matters most. 🎉

• GitHub Spark arrives in public preview for our Pro+ subscribers! This new capability brings advanced AI features directly into your workflow, helping you solve complex problems faster. Check out the details here. 💖

• Copilot Coding Agent improvements:

  • We've optimized to one premium request per session, making your subscription go much further. See how this works and what it means for you.
  • You can now add custom instructions through .instructions.md files – perfect for teaching your AI assistant your preferred coding style. We've got the full instructions available here.
  • Setup steps are now more reliable and easier to troubleshoot, based directly on your feedback. We've documented the improvements for those curious about what changed.
  • Your pull request titles and descriptions now stay updated automatically – a small but mighty quality-of-life improvement! Find out more about this time-saving feature.

Before adding new features, would it be possible to make, you know...what you have NOW actually give good results? I have had nothing but wasted hours per day dealing with the crap your results give me. I've tried chatgpt and claude and for F@#$%^KS sake, it's hoooooooorrrrrible. I've sent feedback for 18months, but nothing changes. I keep trying, keep hoping things are going to improve. NOPE Same crap, different day.
