• There is no way to tell what industry an employer or organization is in.
• John has created a list of organizations and industries for us. (Link below)
• Sectors: 9, Industries: 100+
• Tran_Amt1: individual contributions

I have a good final list of sectors and industries now. If you go to oaktowndata.com/oakland-mayoral, you'll see the full visualization. The only category I haven't fully fleshed out as it will take more research and time to finish is the Retired category. I want to have the sub-categories explain what the person USED TO do before retiring.

Lauren suggested we close this issue based on her conversations in San Francisco today. Although we may be able to figure this information out, donors didn't report their industry, so we would be adding our own interpretation to the data.

Agreed. This is cool and @bayreporta has a nifty first cut at this, but the human upkeep cost of this feature seems a bit high to me. Feel free to reopen it, anyone else, if you disagree.
