Low volume notes sound different on newer builds

In the attached file, i play the same pattern, using a slightly modified triangle wave on volume 11, first with the build tic80-1.2-2883-dev-pro, then with the build 1.2.3002-dev-pro.

There's been a change in the audio engine, it seems. Is it intentional? I prefer the old sound...

hmm, to be honest I dont remember we changed anything, only PCM channel was added
will try to investigate soon, could you pls share the cart with the sound for testing?

it might have something to do with this change in audio.c introduced in the PCM sound channel pull request:

Granted, the new version is way more accurate to the waveform (in this case, a triangle wave with one bump) being played, previously the waveform only became a spike with lower volumes:

So I guess it would make sense to keep this change; i'll just have to change the waveform to something that sounds similar to the old one.
