Is there any *simple* fix when cameras are on a separate IoT VLAN?

I understand that the [-13] IOTC_ER_TIMEOUT issue can be "solved" by setting --network host (rather than bridged) in simple single network topologies where the docker server and the cameras are all on the same subnet.
Though this creates issues since port 5000 conflicts with other network ports.

But I have my cameras on a distinct IoT subnetwork.
I understand that one may be able to get this to work by creating a macvlan network but that seems a rather complicated workaround.

So since the rash of traffic in Feb/March, has there been any progress to a simple solution that restores the pre-existing functionality short of downgrading all our camera firmware...
