WinUI 3 Gallery

Description

Currently, we are manually updating these files to bump the app version, which is error-prone and easy to miss.

• Package.appxmanifest
• Package.Dev.appxmanifest
• AssemblyInfo.cs

It would be helpful to centralize version management so that the version is defined in one place.

I haven't seen what @bethoven23hunk is suggesting up there yet but, I'll start by removing this line and the AssemblyInfo.cs file itself.

<GenerateAssemblyInfo>false</GenerateAssemblyInfo>

and just setting these properties seems to work:

<Version>2.7.0.0</Version>
<AssemblyTitle>WinUIGallery</AssemblyTitle>
<AssemblyProduct>WinUIGallery</AssemblyProduct>
<AssemblyCopyright>Copyright © Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.</AssemblyCopyright>
<AssemblyVersion>$(Version)</AssemblyVersion>
<AssemblyFileVersion>$(Version)</AssemblyFileVersion>

Do you know any better ways to achieve this?

Also, I'll need to see how to set/update the *.appxmanifest files.
