Bug description
The laptop has two TVs connected as external monitors — one through a VGA port and the other through an HDMI port.
If the TVs are powered on after the operating system has booted, the laptop’s built-in keyboard loses functionality on the right Shift key.
An external USB keyboard works correctly.
Keyboard description:
*-input:7
product: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard
physical id: 8
logical name: input4
logical name: /dev/input/event4
logical name: input4::capslock
logical name: input4::numlock
logical name: input4::scrolllock
capabilities: i8042
Steps to reproduce
Boot the operating system
Turn on the displays
Check that pressing the right Shift key together with a letter produces a lowercase character
Expected behavior
The right Shift key should behave the same as the left one.
Additional information
Sometimes rebooting the system restores the keyboard to normal, and sometimes it doesn’t.
Same happens when using the command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration.
