How difficult would this be to implement? Is it just a matter of following what has been done for int and replace it with double ?

Could you, please, clarify, what exactly would you like to replace, I mean which part of the functionality are you talking about?
I just started learning and using Constraint Programming (CP), but as I understand so far, use of integral numbers is a cornerstone of CP. I may be wrong, as I have just started.
