Error in the Machine configuration

Hey,
I installed the Plugin via the admin center on the Inventree Docker development image (v0.18.0).
I was able to get add the machine with the correct driver but there comes an error up "Cannot re-register driver 'brother'"

I have exactly the same problem but with a Bare Metal installation. I see the same Machine Error and when I click on the printer all settings are blank:

Not really sure, have you tried restarting the complete docker stack already (and/or running a invoke update?)

Yes to both questions - many times in different order. ButI do not run this on Docker, I have bare metal container and / or VM installations

I found a way to get rid of the Machine Error - if the Brother plugin is not activated when it's added to the Machine registry there are no errors. As far as I can find in the docs it's not mentioned if the Brother plugin should be activated or not before being added as a Machine driver - what is the correct way?

However, there are still no content in the Machine or Driver settings drop downs. I can select the Machine/Brother printer to print a label but it comes with an error pop up (quite natural if there are no settings found)

@wolflu05 Are there any relevant logs somwhere that can help to find the root cause?

I just checked this on the PC where I have the devcontiner installed. I have never used the printer from the devcontainer so I thought it would be interesting as there should be no "old" configurations from the 0.9.0 version. Although I have used the devcontainer for a while I consider this as a fresh install wrt. the Brother plugin.

It turned out that the Brother plugin was installed by default but not activated. I added it as a driver to the Machine Registry with exactly the same result as above - the Machine and Driver Settings dropdowns are empty...

Yes, i also tried to restart and update everything but nothing really changes.

Sorry, then I have no idea, this may be related to the frequent changes on the plugin loading mechanism in the past on the dev version, but I have not followed them enough because I have very limited time currently. My instance is currently still running on stable as I wait for the rapid development to settle.

@gunstr i have no specific idea what is happening - but i remember getting that error a while ago in the context of issue inventree/InvenTree#9171 dealing with a machine registry fix for multiple instances of the same machine driver being loaded… haven‘t seen that error since the fix anymore though…

I‘m on the road right now - so unfortunately i cannot help a whole lot for a couple of few weeks with this..
