does aider-desk support .aider.conf.yml and .aiderignore ?

I've been using Aider for almost 2 years now and use it daily and heavily. I'm not happy with the current VScode extensions as they are quite janky, and today I found out about aider-desk which looks very promising.

I've installed aider-desk and the vscode extension as well and now I'm wondering if aider-desk supports reading from my .aider.conf.yml and .aiderignore files that are typically present in every project folder I'm currently working on.

Can you try to uncheck "Add rule files..." (Settings -> Aider) and try "Restart session" action (not restart AiderDesk)?

Add rule files it was. Thanks, when this unchecked - everything works fine.

Also one small detail.

When running aider --version from a command line i get this: __main__.py 0.84.1.dev+less, however in settings/about of aider-desk i get aider version 0.82.3, which is strange.

It does seem like aider-desk has its own aider installation.

Yes, AiderDesk creates its own Python virtual environment with a dedicated Aider installation. I'm currently exploring ways to improve the installation process, and this is one of the discussion points regarding the optimal approach.

Not at the moment, I am afraid. But as I said, I am looking into that possibility.
