Mimir 3.0 release #12240
Description
Mimir 3.0, the next major version of Mimir, will be released late this year (October 2025 or later). Since this is a major version bump, we are taking the opportunity to clean up rarely used or esoteric features in addition to adding major new features (like ingest storage and the Mimir Query Engine).
It is our hope that these changes, though breaking, will not affect many users. In most cases the breaking changes are removal of a way of running Mimir that hasn't been a default in the helm chart or jsonnet.
