It would be possible to set the alarm every day or some days in the week for the changing sunrise hours? In that case you don't have to set the alarm every day

This would make a nice feature. :) I think it should be possible for the app to reschedule the alarm similar to the way the widgets are updated.

That leaves the UI - maybe one way to do this is a checkbox "make persistent" when scheduling an alarm - causing it to be added to a list and updated daily, until its either removed from the list (or the alarm itself is deleted by the alarm clock app).

It turns out implementing this isn't trivial :( I haven't given up on it, but I don't expect it to be released soon either.

The app currently adds the alarms through AlarmClock - it creates an Intent w/ the necessary info that then launches the device's alarm clock. The app doesn't actually manage any alarms itself. The problem is beyond requesting new alarms, AlarmClock doesn't provide any control. None. Its not possible to get a list of alarms, to remove alarms, or edit existing alarms. One thing that is possible is bypassing the alarm clock UI.

So while its possible to automatically add updated alarms, that list becomes a real mess. It would be necessary to manually delete the outdated alarms on a regular basis. Not ideal at all.

The other solution to this is to schedule the alarms through AlarmManager - this gives us complete control. I think it also means (re)implementing an entire alarm clock app.

Maybe removing the old alarms isn't a big deal, especially if added less frequently (than daily).
A "once a week" option might work fine.

I find a new bug every time I think its ready for release... Additional testing would improve my confidence in it.
