VLSub not launching when opening a network stream

I’m experiencing an issue where, whenever I open a network stream—primarily rerouted through Stremio—and attempt to add subtitles via VLSub, the VLSub button doesn’t respond. Navigating to View > VLSub does not open the submenu. Has anyone encountered this issue or found a solution?

I’ve tried reinstalling VLC two to three times and even attempted using the 2017 version (0.10.2) of VLSub. In that version, the menu does open but gets stuck while downloading subtitles. I’ve attached an image showing the issue caused by version 0.10.2."
