amber.com.au: Feed-in priority paused hours backwards

Describe the bug

A feed in tarrif of -420.6c indicates I will be charged negative (i.e. earn money for feed in at this stage) on Amber dynamic tarrifs in Australia.

When I select that part of the chart, it indicates the pause hours will be the opposite of what I want - instead of pausing only when the price is high, it's pausing every other hour.

I assume this is an issue with negative values on Amber being opposite of the norm? Should we be inverting amber feed in prices to match what is expected? Or allow both less than or greater than selections for the feed in limit selection?

• I have made sure that no external automation like HomeAssistant or Node-RED is active or accessing any of the mentioned devices when this issue occurs.

You're correct. Positive feed-in values mean, that you earn money.

If it's backwards with in the amber implementation it should be changed.

Is this something you could fix in the amber integration?

Just clarifying @tehFred are your feed in values shown in the amber app also negative at these times? Or is it the reverse of what the app shows?

For context for others not familiar: Amber will have both positive and negative feed in values depending on the prices at the time

Currently my feed in price in the amber app is 26c, in evcc it consumption at -21.8c, and grid export at 21.8c

The feed in priority UI shows current price as -21.8 which is inverted

Is your feed in price configured correctly? That looks like you’re using the import price for both?

Grid use shows as a much higher value, so I believe it's configured correctly

Ah right sorry I misread consumption as import. Will have a look after the kids are in bed. Interesting how the UI is showing positive for feed in there….

Interesting indeed, should the feed in priority UI be referencing the grid export price here, which is in fact positive? (rather than the negative consumption value)

Raised a PR to invert the pricing for feed-in. I have to say I'm a bit confused about the display (which is obviously why it wasn't spotted before!).. after this change the price will display on the main page as inverted compared to the Amber app, but at least the feed-in priority feature will work:
