problem with setting end dates on breeding pairs #941

We've encountered a significant undesirable behavior. When a subject is culled, that subject no longer can appear as "father" or "mother" in the dropdown on the main page of a breeding pair. I think this is intended to make it so you can't accidentally select a dead subject which is fair enough. But then the problem is that if you then go put an end date on the breeding pair and click "save", it takes the blank father or mother field as a change, and "removes" that parent from the breeding pair.

Then there is a second problem: the "history" of the breeding pair does not seem to show the details about what father/mother was removed, and the reversions don't seem to have the father/mother shown. My guess is that the father/mother does exist for the BP on those reversions but is just not shown when looking at the reversion. However, if I try to do the reversion by clicking "save" on that page, it still doesn't show the father. I guess this is probably still because the reversion field is showing blank for the father because the father is dead.

This is a serious problem for us because we're not sure how we can access our past breeding pair parent information right now!! Please help. Let me know if I can hop on zoom with someone to discuss? @k1o0 ?
