I think what's going on here is we're switching from:

• key of E♭ with chords I, V, I, V, iii, vi, to
• key of C with chords vi, V, vi, I, V, vi, iii, vi

....maybe? Shit, I don't know, music is weird.

Playing the chords on their own I can mostly hear it. It's easier to play, that's for sure. Did you try putting it through the ABC to MIDI playback? That's how I've always double checked.
