Storing empty value and special characters in fst

Is their any kind of limitation in the fst regarding special characters like (. ,"" ,~ , $,#). If my key contains the special character or empty characters than fst bytes will get corrupted or not because of those characters ?

Since it works with bytes, not characters, you can't mess it up with any character. That is in theory.
