Round(1.234512,2)  = 1.23
Round(1.129,2) = 1.13
Round(1.124,2) = 1.12

I would implement the "closest multiple" approach

For your example the closest multiple of 0.01 will evaluate to:

>> Round(1.234512, 0.01) 
1.23

>> Round(-1.234512, 0.01) 
-1.23

>> Round(1.235512, 0.01) 
1.24 

>> Round(-1.235512, 0.01) 
-1.24
