When generating `arm_neon.h`, NeonEmitter outputs code that
violates strict aliasing rules (C23 6.5 Expressions #7,
C++23 7.2.1 Value category [basic.lval] #11), for example:

    bfloat16_t __reint = __p0;
    uint32_t __reint1 = (uint32_t)(*(uint16_t *) &__reint) << 16;
    __ret = *(float32_t *) &__reint1;

This patch fixed the offending code by replacing it with
a call to `__builtin_bit_cast`.

…ible (#123752)

This patch adds a new option `-aarch64-enable-zpr-predicate-spills`
(which is disabled by default), this option replaces predicate spills
with vector spills in streaming[-compatible] functions.

For example:

```
str	p8, [sp, #7, mul vl]            // 2-byte Folded Spill
// ...
ldr	p8, [sp, #7, mul vl]            // 2-byte Folded Reload
```

Becomes:

```
mov	z0.b, p8/z, #1
str	z0, [sp]                        // 16-byte Folded Spill
// ...
ldr	z0, [sp]                        // 16-byte Folded Reload
ptrue	p4.b
cmpne	p8.b, p4/z, z0.b, #0
```

This is done to avoid streaming memory hazards between FPR/vector and
predicate spills, which currently occupy the same stack area even when
the `-aarch64-stack-hazard-size` flag is set.

This is implemented with two new pseudos SPILL_PPR_TO_ZPR_SLOT_PSEUDO
and FILL_PPR_FROM_ZPR_SLOT_PSEUDO. The expansion of these pseudos
handles scavenging the required registers (z0 in the above example) and,
in the worst case spilling a register to an emergency stack slot in the
expansion. The condition flags are also preserved around the `cmpne` in
case they are live at the expansion point.

For function declarations (i.e. func op has no entry block), the
FunctionOpInterface method `insertArgument` and `eraseArgument` will
cause segfault. This PR guards against manipulation of empty entry block
by checking whether func op is external.

An example can be seen in google/heir#1324

…too. (#132267)

Observed in Wine when trying to intercept `ExitThread`, which forwards
to `ntdll.RtlExitUserThread`.

`gdb` interprets it as `xchg %ax,%ax`.
`llvm-mc` outputs simply `nop`.

Observed in Wine when trying to intercept `ExitThread`, which forwards
to `ntdll.RtlExitUserThread`.

`gdb` interprets it as `xchg %ax,%ax`.
`llvm-mc` outputs simply `nop`.

…reporting (#131756)

### Description
This PR resolves a deadlock between AddressSanitizer (ASan) and
LeakSanitizer (LSan)
that occurs when both sanitizers attempt to acquire locks in conflicting
orders across
threads. The fix ensures safe lock acquisition ordering by preloading
module information
before error reporting.

---

### Issue Details
**Reproducer**
```cpp
// Thread 1: ASan error path
int arr[1] = {0};
std::thread t([&]() {
  arr[1] = 1; // Triggers ASan OOB error
});
// Thread 2: LSan check path
__lsan_do_leak_check();
```

**Lock Order Conflict**:

- Thread 1 (ASan error reporting):
  1. Acquires ASan thread registry lock (B)
  1. Attempts to acquire libdl lock (A) via `dl_iterate_phdr`

- Thread 2 (LSan leak check):
  1. Acquires libdl lock (A) via `dl_iterate_phdr`
  1. Attempts to acquire ASan thread registry lock (B)

This creates a circular wait condition (A -> B -> A) meeting all four
Coffman deadlock criteria.

---

### Fix Strategy
The root cause lies in ASan's error reporting path needing
`dl_iterate_phdr` (requiring lock A)
while already holding its thread registry lock (B). The solution:

1. **Preload Modules Early**: Force module list initialization _before_
acquiring ASan's thread lock
2. **Avoid Nested Locking**: Ensure symbolization (via dl_iterate_phdr)
completes before error reporting locks

Key code change:
```cpp
// Before acquiring ASan's thread registry lock:
Symbolizer::GetOrInit()->GetRefreshedListOfModules();
```

This guarantees module information is cached before lock acquisition,
eliminating
the need for `dl_iterate_phdr` calls during error reporting.

---

### Testing
Added **asan_lsan_deadlock.cpp** test case:
- Reproduces deadlock reliably without fix **under idle system
conditions**
   - Uses watchdog thread to detect hangs
   - Verifies ASan error reports correctly without deadlock

**Note**: Due to the inherent non-determinism of thread scheduling and
lock acquisition timing,
this test may not reliably reproduce the deadlock on busy systems (e.g.,
during parallel
   `ninja check-asan` runs).

---

### Impact
- Fixes rare but severe deadlocks in mixed ASan+LSan environments
- Maintains thread safety guarantees for both sanitizers
- No user-visible behavior changes except deadlock elimination

---

### Relevant Buggy Code
- Code in ASan's asan_report.cpp
```cpp
  explicit ScopedInErrorReport(bool fatal = false)
      : halt_on_error_(fatal || flags()->halt_on_error) {
    // Acquire lock B
    asanThreadRegistry().Lock();
  }
  ~ScopedInErrorReport() {
    ...
…fore error reporting (#131756)
### Description
This PR resolves a deadlock between AddressSanitizer (ASan) and
LeakSanitizer (LSan)
that occurs when both sanitizers attempt to acquire locks in conflicting
orders across
threads. The fix ensures safe lock acquisition ordering by preloading
module information
before error reporting.
---
### Issue Details
**Reproducer**
```cpp
// Thread 1: ASan error path
int arr[1] = {0};
std::thread t([&]() {
  arr[1] = 1; // Triggers ASan OOB error
});

// Thread 2: LSan check path
__lsan_do_leak_check();
```
**Lock Order Conflict**:
- Thread 1 (ASan error reporting):
  1. Acquires ASan thread registry lock (B)
  1. Attempts to acquire libdl lock (A) via `dl_iterate_phdr`
- Thread 2 (LSan leak check):
  1. Acquires libdl lock (A) via `dl_iterate_phdr`
  1. Attempts to acquire ASan thread registry lock (B)
This creates a circular wait condition (A -> B -> A) meeting all four
Coffman deadlock criteria.
---
### Fix Strategy
The root cause lies in ASan's error reporting path needing
`dl_iterate_phdr` (requiring lock A)
while already holding its thread registry lock (B). The solution:
1. **Preload Modules Early**: Force module list initialization _before_
acquiring ASan's thread lock
2. **Avoid Nested Locking**: Ensure symbolization (via dl_iterate_phdr)
completes before error reporting locks
Key code change:
```cpp
// Before acquiring ASan's thread registry lock:
Symbolizer::GetOrInit()->GetRefreshedListOfModules();
```
This guarantees module information is cached before lock acquisition,
eliminating
the need for `dl_iterate_phdr` calls during error reporting.
---
### Testing
Added **asan_lsan_deadlock.cpp** test case:
- Reproduces deadlock reliably without fix **under idle system
conditions**
   - Uses watchdog thread to detect hangs
   - Verifies ASan error reports correctly without deadlock
**Note**: Due to the inherent non-determinism of thread scheduling and
lock acquisition timing,
this test may not reliably reproduce the deadlock on busy systems (e.g.,
during parallel
   `ninja check-asan` runs).
---
### Impact
- Fixes rare but severe deadlocks in mixed ASan+LSan environments
- Maintains thread safety guarantees for both sanitizers
- No user-visible behavior changes except deadlock elimination
---
### Relevant Buggy Code
- Code in ASan's asan_report.cpp
```cpp
  explicit ScopedInErrorReport(bool fatal = false)
      : halt_on_error_(fatal || flags()->halt_on_error) {
    // Acquire lock B
    asanThreadRegistry().Lock();
  }

…lection (#136795)

Fix a [test
failure](llvm/llvm-project#136236 (comment))
in #136236, apply a minor renaming of statistics, and remerge. See
details below.

# Changes in #136236

Currently, `DebuggerStats::ReportStatistics()` calls
`Module::GetSymtab(/*can_create=*/false)`, but then the latter calls
`SymbolFile::GetSymtab()`. This will load symbols if haven't yet. See
stacktrace below.

The problem is that `DebuggerStats::ReportStatistics` should be
read-only. This is especially important because it reports stats for
symtab parsing/indexing time, which could be affected by the reporting
itself if it's not read-only.

This patch fixes this problem by adding an optional parameter
`SymbolFile::GetSymtab(bool can_create = true)` and receiving the
`false` value passed down from `Module::GetSymtab(/*can_create=*/false)`
when the call is initiated from `DebuggerStats::ReportStatistics()`.

---

Notes about the following stacktrace:
1. This can be reproduced. Create a helloworld program on **macOS** with
dSYM, add `settings set target.preload-symbols false` to `~/.lldbinit`,
do `lldb a.out`, then `statistics dump`.
2. `ObjectFile::GetSymtab` has `llvm::call_once`. So the fact that it
called into `ObjectFileMachO::ParseSymtab` means that the symbol table
is actually being parsed.

Fix a [test
failure](llvm/llvm-project#136236 (comment))
in `TestStats.py`. The original version of the added test checks that
all modules have symbol count zero when `target.preload-symbols ==
false`. The test failed on macOS. Due to various reasons, on macOS,
symbols can be loaded for dylibs even with that setting, but not for the
main module. For now, the fix of the test is to limit the assertion to
only the main module. The test now passes on macOS. In the future, when
we have a way to control a specific list of plug-ins to be loaded, there
may be a configuration that this test can use to assert that all modules
have symbol count zero.

Apply a minor renaming of statistics, per the
[suggestion](llvm/llvm-project#136226 (comment))
in #136226 after merge.

The underlying issue was that the `DeviceCompilerInstance` (used for
device-side CUDA compilation) was never initialized with a `Sema`, which
is required before constructing the `IncrementalCUDADeviceParser`.

https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/89687e6f383b742a3c6542dc673a84d9f82d02de/clang/lib/Interpreter/IncrementalParser.cpp#L31

Unlike the host-side `CompilerInstance` which runs `ExecuteAction`
inside the Interpreter constructor (thereby setting up Sema), the
device-side CI was passed into the parser uninitialized, leading to an
assertion or crash when accessing its internals.

To fix this, I refactored the `Interpreter::create` method to include an
optional `DeviceCI` parameter. If provided, we know we need to take care
of this instance too. Only then do we construct the
`IncrementalCUDADeviceParser`.

Problem :

1) The destructor currently handles no clearance for the DeviceParser
and the DeviceAct. We currently only have this

https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/976493822443c52a71ed3c67aaca9a555b20c55d/clang/lib/Interpreter/Interpreter.cpp#L416-L419

2) The ownership for DeviceCI currently is present in
IncrementalCudaDeviceParser. But this should be similar to how the
combination for hostCI, hostAction and hostParser are managed by the
Interpreter. As on master the DeviceAct and DeviceParser are managed by
the Interpreter but not DeviceCI. This is problematic because :
IncrementalParser holds a Sema& which points into the DeviceCI. On
master, DeviceCI is destroyed before the base class ~IncrementalParser()
runs, causing Parser::reset() to access a dangling Sema (and as Sema
holds a reference to Preprocessor which owns PragmaNamespace) we see
this
```
  * frame #0: 0x00007fffee41cfe3 libclangCppInterOp.so.21.0gitclang::PragmaNamespace::~PragmaNamespace() + 99
Fix a [test
failure](llvm/llvm-project#136236 (comment))
in #136236, apply a minor renaming of statistics, and remerge. See
details below.
# Changes in #136236
Currently, `DebuggerStats::ReportStatistics()` calls
`Module::GetSymtab(/*can_create=*/false)`, but then the latter calls
`SymbolFile::GetSymtab()`. This will load symbols if haven't yet. See
stacktrace below.
The problem is that `DebuggerStats::ReportStatistics` should be
read-only. This is especially important because it reports stats for
symtab parsing/indexing time, which could be affected by the reporting
itself if it's not read-only.
This patch fixes this problem by adding an optional parameter
`SymbolFile::GetSymtab(bool can_create = true)` and receiving the
`false` value passed down from `Module::GetSymtab(/*can_create=*/false)`
when the call is initiated from `DebuggerStats::ReportStatistics()`.
---
Notes about the following stacktrace:
1. This can be reproduced. Create a helloworld program on **macOS** with
dSYM, add `settings set target.preload-symbols false` to `~/.lldbinit`,
do `lldb a.out`, then `statistics dump`.
2. `ObjectFile::GetSymtab` has `llvm::call_once`. So the fact that it
called into `ObjectFileMachO::ParseSymtab` means that the symbol table
is actually being parsed.
# Changes in this PR top of the above
Fix a [test
failure](llvm/llvm-project#136236 (comment))
in `TestStats.py`. The original version of the added test checks that
all modules have symbol count zero when `target.preload-symbols ==
false`. The test failed on macOS. Due to various reasons, on macOS,
symbols can be loaded for dylibs even with that setting, but not for the
main module. For now, the fix of the test is to limit the assertion to
only the main module. The test now passes on macOS. In the future, when
we have a way to control a specific list of plug-ins to be loaded, there
may be a configuration that this test can use to assert that all modules
have symbol count zero.
Apply a minor renaming of statistics, per the
[suggestion](llvm/llvm-project#136226 (comment))
in #136226 after merge.
The underlying issue was that the `DeviceCompilerInstance` (used for
device-side CUDA compilation) was never initialized with a `Sema`, which
is required before constructing the `IncrementalCUDADeviceParser`.
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/89687e6f383b742a3c6542dc673a84d9f82d02de/clang/lib/Interpreter/DeviceOffload.cpp#L32
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/89687e6f383b742a3c6542dc673a84d9f82d02de/clang/lib/Interpreter/IncrementalParser.cpp#L31
Unlike the host-side `CompilerInstance` which runs `ExecuteAction`
inside the Interpreter constructor (thereby setting up Sema), the
device-side CI was passed into the parser uninitialized, leading to an
assertion or crash when accessing its internals.
To fix this, I refactored the `Interpreter::create` method to include an
optional `DeviceCI` parameter. If provided, we know we need to take care
of this instance too. Only then do we construct the
`IncrementalCUDADeviceParser`.
Problem :
1) The destructor currently handles no clearance for the DeviceParser
and the DeviceAct. We currently only have this
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/976493822443c52a71ed3c67aaca9a555b20c55d/clang/lib/Interpreter/Interpreter.cpp#L416-L419
2) The ownership for DeviceCI currently is present in
IncrementalCudaDeviceParser. But this should be similar to how the
combination for hostCI, hostAction and hostParser are managed by the
Interpreter. As on master the DeviceAct and DeviceParser are managed by
the Interpreter but not DeviceCI. This is problematic because :
IncrementalParser holds a Sema& which points into the DeviceCI. On
master, DeviceCI is destroyed before the base class ~IncrementalParser()
runs, causing Parser::reset() to access a dangling Sema (and as Sema
holds a reference to Preprocessor which owns PragmaNamespace) we see
this
The underlying issue was that the `DeviceCompilerInstance` (used for
device-side CUDA compilation) was never initialized with a `Sema`, which
is required before constructing the `IncrementalCUDADeviceParser`.
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/89687e6f383b742a3c6542dc673a84d9f82d02de/clang/lib/Interpreter/DeviceOffload.cpp#L32
Unlike the host-side `CompilerInstance` which runs `ExecuteAction`
inside the Interpreter constructor (thereby setting up Sema), the
device-side CI was passed into the parser uninitialized, leading to an
assertion or crash when accessing its internals.
To fix this, I refactored the `Interpreter::create` method to include an
optional `DeviceCI` parameter. If provided, we know we need to take care
of this instance too. Only then do we construct the
`IncrementalCUDADeviceParser`.
Problem :
1) The destructor currently handles no clearance for the DeviceParser
and the DeviceAct. We currently only have this
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/976493822443c52a71ed3c67aaca9a555b20c55d/clang/lib/Interpreter/Interpreter.cpp#L416-L419
2) The ownership for DeviceCI currently is present in
IncrementalCudaDeviceParser. But this should be similar to how the
combination for hostCI, hostAction and hostParser are managed by the
Interpreter. As on master the DeviceAct and DeviceParser are managed by
the Interpreter but not DeviceCI. This is problematic because :
IncrementalParser holds a Sema& which points into the DeviceCI. On
master, DeviceCI is destroyed before the base class ~IncrementalParser()
runs, causing Parser::reset() to access a dangling Sema (and as Sema
holds a reference to Preprocessor which owns PragmaNamespace) we see
this
```
  * frame #0: 0x00007fffee41cfe3 libclangCppInterOp.so.21.0gitclang::PragmaNamespace::~PragmaNamespace() + 99

…#144097)

In Aya/Rust, BPF map definitions are nested in two nested types:

* A struct representing the map type (e.g., `HashMap`, `RingBuf`) that
provides methods for interacting with the map type (e.g. `HashMap::get`,
`RingBuf::reserve`).
* An `UnsafeCell`, which informs the Rust compiler that the type is
thread-safe and can be safely mutated even as a global variable. The
kernel guarantees map operation safety.

This leads to a type hierarchy like:

```rust
    pub struct HashMap<K, V, const M: usize, const F: usize = 0>(
        core::cell::UnsafeCell<HashMapDef<K, V, M, F>>,
    );
    const BPF_MAP_TYPE_HASH: usize = 1;
    pub struct HashMapDef<K, V, const M: usize, const F: usize = 0> {
        r#type: *const [i32; BPF_MAP_TYPE_HASH],
        key: *const K,
        value: *const V,
        max_entries: *const [i32; M],
        map_flags: *const [i32; F],
    }
```

Then used in the BPF program code as a global variable:

```rust
    #[link_section = ".maps"]
    static HASH_MAP: HashMap<u32, u32, 1337> = HashMap::new();
```

Which is an equivalent of the following BPF map definition in C:

```c
    #define BPF_MAP_TYPE_HASH 1
    struct {
        int (*type)[BPF_MAP_TYPE_HASH];
        typeof(int) *key;
        typeof(int) *value;
        int (*max_entries)[1337];
    } map_1 __attribute__((section(".maps")));
```

Accessing the actual map definition requires traversing:

```
  HASH_MAP -> __0 -> value
```

Previously, the BPF backend only visited the pointee types of the
outermost struct, and didn’t descend into inner wrappers. This caused
issues when the key/value types were custom structs:

```rust
    // Define custom structs for key and values.
    pub struct MyKey(u32);
    pub struct MyValue(u32);
    #[link_section = ".maps"]
    #[export_name = "HASH_MAP"]
    pub static HASH_MAP: HashMap<MyKey, MyValue, 10> = HashMap::new();
```

These types weren’t fully visited and appeared in BTF as forward
declarations:

```
    #30: <FWD> 'MyKey' kind:struct
    #31: <FWD> 'MyValue' kind:struct
```

The fix is to enhance `visitMapDefType` to recursively visit inner
composite members. If a member is a composite type (likely a wrapper),
it is now also visited using `visitMapDefType`, ensuring that the
pointee types of the innermost stuct members, like `MyKey` and
`MyValue`, are fully resolved in BTF.

With this fix, the correct BTF entries are emitted:

```
    #6: <STRUCT> 'MyKey' sz:4 n:1
            #00 '__0' off:0 --> [7]
    #7: <INT> 'u32' bits:32 off:0
    #8: <PTR> --> [9]
    #9: <STRUCT> 'MyValue' sz:4 n:1
            #00 '__0' off:0 --> [7]
```

## Problem

When the new setting

```
```
was added, lldb began fetching modules from the devices from multiple
threads simultaneously. This caused crashes of lldb when debugging on
android devices.

```
Our workaround was to set `set target.parallel-module-load ` to `false`
to avoid the crash.
## Background
PlatformAndroid creates two different classes with one stateful adb
connection shared between the two -- one through AdbClient and another
through AdbClient::SyncService. The connection management and state is
complex, and seems to be responsible for the segfault we are seeing. The
AdbClient code resets these connections at times, and re-establishes
connections if they are not active. Similarly, PlatformAndroid caches
its SyncService, which uses an AdbClient class, but the SyncService puts
its connection into a different 'sync' state that is incompatible with a
standard connection.
## Changes in this diff
* This diff refactors the code to (hopefully) have clearer ownership of
the connection, clearer separation of AdbClient and SyncService by
making a new class for clearer separations of concerns, called
AdbSyncService.
* New unit tests are added
* Additional logs were added (see
llvm/llvm-project#145382 (comment)
for details)
from the folder for `tosa::mul` since the zero value was being reshaped
to `?x17` size which isn't supported. AFAIK, `tosa.const` requires all
dimensions to be static. So in this case, the fix is to not to fold the
op.
… type is dynamic (#153420)
Canonicalizing the following IR:
```
func.func @mul_zero_dynamic_nofold(%arg0: tensor<?x17xf32>) -> tensor<?x17xf32> {
  %0 = "tosa.const"() <{values = dense<0.000000e+00> : tensor<1x1xf32>}> : () -> tensor<1x1xf32>
  %1 = "tosa.const"() <{values = dense<0> : tensor<1xi8>}> : () -> tensor<1xi8>
  %2 = tosa.mul %arg0, %0, %1 : (tensor<?x17xf32>, tensor<1x1xf32>, tensor<1xi8>) -> tensor<?x17xf32>
  return %2 : tensor<?x17xf32>
}
```
resulted in a crash
