Keka currently does not support binary-to-7-bit-text file encodings, like UUEncoding, Binhex, Xxencoding, Base64, Ascii85, …

These formats were very common 20+ years ago and from time to time I need to decode a .hqx or .uue file

For reference @aonez here are some macOS command line utilities to work on such files:

• applesingle (for .as; 0x00051600 magic number)
  • progl.txt.as.zip
  • encode: applesingle encode prog.txt
  • decode: applesingle decode prog.txt.as
• base64 (for .b64)
  • progl.txt.b64.zip
  • encode: base64 -i progl.txt -o progl.txt.b64
  • decode: base64 -D -i progl.txt.b64 -o progl.txt
  • (other base64 methods exist using other standard macOS command line tools)
• binhex (for .hqx)
  • progl.txt.hqx.zip
  • encode: binhex encode progl.txt
  • encode: binhex decode progl.txt.hqx
• macbinary (for .bin; header does not have magic number)
  • progl.txt.bin.zip
  • encode: macbinary encode progl.txt
  • decode: macbinary encode progl.txt.bin
• uudecode (for .uue)
  • progl.txt.uue.zip
  • encode: uuencode -o progl.txt.uue progl.txt progl.txt
  • decode: uudecode progl.txt.uue
• xxd (for .xxe)
  • progl.txt.xxe.zip
  • encode: xxd progl.txt progl.txt.xxe
  • decode: xxd -r progl.txt.xxe progl.txt

• ascii85 (no standard file extension; via TCL, xbtoa5 magic number)
• yencode (for .yenc; via TCL, no self-contained command line tool)
  • you could use tclsh for these two
  • or yydecode OSS
