A gear motor turns a thread die. When I push the threaded stud lightly against the die, it rotates slowly. This allows the threads to engage. Then I push harder, which brings the motor up to full speed and it reverses after a fixed time specified in main/main.c.

  • HX711 and 20kg load cell. 5kg works, but bands.dead in main.c should be increased.
  • LM7805 5V voltage regulator
  • L298N board, soon to be replaced by BTN8982TA which ends up being a similar price but supports higher current and can also sense current
  • 32GP31ZY 24V 1544RPM gear motor, soon to be replaced by 42GP-775 220RPM
  • 24V 5A power supply
  • M10 thread die and a 3D printed die holder or a die holder in a gearbox
