Tray icon menu incorrectly pops up by itself if user clicks on it for updates and then lingers on the update dialog

I've recently noticed that the tray icon menu likes to pop up by itself without any direct user interaction. The best way to reproduce is to wait until there are updates, click on it, and then linger on the update dialog for 25-30 seconds. Somewhere around that time, the tray icon menu will pop up by itself.

Probably some bug related to plasma/wayland.
I get no issues in my Lxqt X11 session.

I am not sure about the specifics to be honest. I've never implemented a tray icon myself. I will say this is the only tray app I have that has this odd behavior in KDE though.
