initial setup using Quarto as PDF build framework

Hi,

I created a working PDF builder with a clean book layout using Quarto. Use and modify it if you like it. Trash it if you don't. I made it so I can read your book as a dark mode PDF

Currently it produced a light and dark mode PDF. See attachments. Instructions are included in the README.md

Hi!

Thanks for setting this up and publishing the PDFs! I'd be happy to merge a PDF-publisher (I even mentioned such aspirations in the README back when this repo was first created). I think some acceptance criteria would be that

1. the top-level file tree remains very clean - most people who come to this repository land on the main page and want to quickly get to the content of the book, and so I want to make sure that remains obvious/easy, as well as just in general keeping the file tree organized.
2. Whatever mechanism is used to generate PDFs is automated via a GitHub actions workflows - which I think this is reasonably close to, just needs some extra steps for installing quarto etc. and wiring into a workflow.

If the community doesn't pickup these additional criteria then I'll gladly do so myself, time permitting.
