This plugin is based on the Jitsi platform.

1. Overview

The Meet Plugin allows you to create, schedule, and join meetings directly from your AVideo platform. Once enabled, a Meet button will appear on the top menu, providing access to the Meet page, where you can manage meetings, start live streams, and more.

2. How to Use the Meet Plugin

2.1 Create a Meet

Once the plugin is enabled, you can create a meeting by:

  • Clicking the Meet button on the top menu, which will redirect you to the Meet Page.
  • On the Meet Page, you can either:
    • Create a new meet instantly by clicking the New Meet tab.
    • Schedule a future meet by using the Schedule tab.

If you are the meet owner and have the necessary live streaming permissions, you will see the Start Livestream button. This allows you to broadcast the meet live using your livestream configurations (Premium Servers Only).

2.2 How to Share a Meeting Link

Sharing a meeting link is straightforward:

  • Option 1: Copy the meeting link directly from the meeting panel.
  • Option 2: Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.

If a user is not logged in, they will be prompted to enter their name before joining the meeting. If they are logged in, their site profile name and photo will be automatically used in the meeting.

3. The Meet Page Overview

3.1 The Meet Button

Clicking the Meet button will take you to the Meet Page, where you can manage your meetings.

3.2 Server Status

On the Meet Page, you can check the status of your server to see if it is ready to host meetings. If needed, you can switch to another server directly from this button.

3.3 Meetings List

This section displays:

  • Upcoming Meetings: Meetings that you have scheduled or can attend.
  • New Meet Tab: Create a new meet instantly.
  • Schedule Tab: Schedule a meet for the future.

4. Types of Servers

The plugin allows you to host meetings on either custom servers or our managed infrastructure.

Notes:

  • Free Public Servers are great to get started, but have strong limitations: only 5 participants per meeting and a 10-minute livestream cap. You may also face delays due to inactivity.
  • Premium Servers remove all limits: unlimited participants, no livestream time limits, and reliable performance.
  • Custom Jitsi Installations are possible via Jitsi Docker, but livestream and recording features are not supported unless you develop complex custom solutions.

If you're serious about hosting meetings and livestreaming, a Premium Server is the best choice:

  • No participant or duration limits
  • Full access to livestreaming and recording
  • Better performance and no waiting times
  • Brandable and stable infrastructure
