Checklist

Steps to reproduce the bug

Taken from #1456 (comment)

  1. System settings brightness is at lowest setting
  2. Enable gestures for brightness
  3. Open a video, fullscreen, set brightness to max using gestures
  4. Disable gestures for brightness
  5. Open a video, fullscreen, cannot set brightness using gestures (expected), cannot set brightness using system settings (possibly unexpected?) - "settings controlled by an application" equivalent message.
  6. Brightness is still stuck at max (as it was set using gestures) when viewing a video fullscreen, does not reflect system settings.

Actual behaviour

The brightness setting when viewing a video in fullscreen after disabling gestures retains the pre-gesture-disabling value, due to the session persistence (4 hours). While in fullscreen cannot change the system brightness setting because of the "brightness setting controlled by an application" message. Only really applies after switching from gestures to no gestures, and only for 4 hours (after that can change brightness using system settings) so not impactful.

Expected behavior

Expected the brightness to reflect sytem settings / be able to change brightness using sytem settings after disabling gestures.
