Arrange all in 2.3.1 no longer respecting edge spacing when print sequence is " by object"

How to reproduce

Turn on slicing mode "by object"

Place multiple objects on a build plate

Right click plate and select arrange

Actual results

Objects are neatly arranged and spaced in respect to actual object size but too close to print

Expected results

Objects should be arranged and distanced based on manifold edges, not object.

I've run a few plates with cloned small parts that have this issue but this can even be replicated with the flow squares

It appears arrange is only arranging for "by layer" slicing mode regardless of selection.
This was working in prior release to alpha

The alpha? I do not have this issue, I think. I arranged 24 multiboard bolts on the SV-08 MAX, and it handled it as expected.

Yes, on the alpha. I haven't run into this on prior revisions it only started after upgrading.

I've also had mixed luck since the alpha because I -have- successfully rearranged the plate on some prints. I'm not quite sure yet what specific scenario is breaking it I just know that I've encountered this several times.

Oh, I always use Arrange All. Is that perhaps the difference? You mentioned you right clicked and presumably arranged only some of the objects.

I was right clicking a blank space on the plate and saying "arrange"

if I use the arrange all button up top I get the same result

It does this for me as well. I can post settings/logs if needed.

Also happens for me. I've also noticed that the white border it used to show around the object when dragging them around has disappeared.
