[BUG] unit test failures using BGSave with fork in 6.3.2

Describe the bug

Regular background save is quite unstable in 6.3.2, including unit test failures

To reproduce

Run unit tests with forkless bgsave disabled

./runtest --config use-fork yes

Expected behavior

Unit tests pass.
