It is not easy for the reader to match additional elements to their citations in the prose, especially if the element designator (letter) is not included in the filename -- see #353
The rendered citations use the element letter (e.g. "Element a") -- if the letter is not in the filename then this makes it harder for the reader to follow.
Perhaps instead the "title" of the additional element should be used in the rendering of the citation (rather than the letter) just as it is when rendering normative reference citations (if they were all of the form "Reference 1" the text would be much harder to follow).
