Omnisharp package in Zed editor issue on macOs Silicon(Arm64)

I have raised an issue with the extension the the extension for Zed but think it could be an issue with Omnisharp itself.

Short version

When Zed is trying to initialise Ominsharp, it looks like Omnisharp is looking for the wrong dotnet runtime install location for mac arm_64. This means that it is trying to find the x86 version of the dotnet runtime

OmniSharp uses MSBuildLocator to find installed SDKs. If it is locating the x64 SDK, then it is likely the process that started O# was running as x64 with rosetta.

I put a solution on the link above but I’ll copy it below

My solution was to delete /etc/dotnet/install_location and then copying /etc/dotnet/install_location_arm64 as /etc/dotnet/install_location. This then told Ominsharp the correct location for the dotnet install for arm_64

The issue is that OmniSharp uses the apphost from .NET 6 preview 7:

Between preview 7 and RC2, the format of /etc/dotnet/install_location changed (dotnet/runtime#59485). Because of this, the OmniSharp apphost looks in the wrong place to find the .NET runtime.

OmniSharp needs to use a newer apphost to fix this issue.
