UNSD conference
- Approx 20 countries and 10 solution providers attended, along with UN and other international orgs.
- Key ideas that recurred: Interoperability between national, regional and international systems; Developing modular systems that can be shared and connected; Timeliness; Quality metadata; Streamlining data collection; Putting user needs at the heart of reporting efforts; Open standards and open source; building APIs
- Interest in open source approach from Ghana and Rwanda
UK NRP developments
- ONS has a strategic partnership with several countries, including Ghana and Rwanda. Trips planned in next weeks.
- Starting a development sprint to improve data filtering with charts and tables
- Going to explore obtaining and visualizing lower level geographic data
- Recruiting in-house developer currently
US NRP developments
- In conversations with GPSDD and new countries to join the partnership, in particular countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. In conversations with Rwanda, Uganda, Malawi.
- Looking into additional subnational indicators for Brock to develop subnational visualizations.
- Looking into Orlando as a city interested in subnational reporting
CODE NRP developments
- Developing script for importing data, using SDG API for proof-of-concept, with purpose of allowing countries to maintain data in separate systems and import it automatically without having to create and upload csv files

GPSDD DataFest Conference in Bristol (March) Three sessions of interest:
- Approaches to SDG reporting and monitoring session (CODE)
- Data ecosystems session featuring DG and MCC work (ODI and State Dept)
- Open data as it relates to SDG indicators (ODI and State Dept)
World Data Forum in Dubai (October)
- State Dept submitted session on youth engagement and data (working with SDSN Youth), and also offered to talk about PEPFAR work and youth data dashboard as part of UNFPA session
- CODE submitting two session: 1) SDG reporting, and 2) User personas
- Starting a new call format, with updates sent beforehand
- Ann and Phil to connect re: new UK developer
- Kali to write up list of subnational data and indicators available for visualizations
- Ann to find out more about WDF participation
- Greg to find out more about DataFest sessions and share with the group
- Laura to provide update on SDG compacts meetings
