1. Updates

CODE developments (priorities, github issues, next steps)

  • Created a number of Github issues, now awaiting feedback: data formats, sdmx, readme file

US NRP developments - US

  • Subnational reporting: Greg has been reaching out to NY state government and city but tepid response.
  • SDMX: Phil will be rep for US group, replacing Francisco
  • Working on the data call: currently a manual process when a data series has been updated since last year. Next step is to automate that with some kind of toggle. Brock to look into this/

UK NRP developments - UK

  • New developer starting Feb/March in digital publishing team
  • Looking into creating a web service to add data
  • Also looking into SDMX and how to pass on data to the UN agencies - keen to learn from any developments US team take forward re SDMX

Esri

  • UK in phase 2, going to take handful of indicators, incl. one economic, one environmental and one social, and to try see how it interfaces with the existing platform (but not recreating entire website in Esri)
  • Subnational modules are not an option and the service is not free (a key requirement for the platform is open sources)

UNSD conference (January)

  • Ann attending from UK, Laura and Audrey from CODE
  • Ghana keen to attend but GSS haven’t received invitation

GPSDD Conference in Bristol (March)

  • Greg is on the processes team and will be integrating the NRP work

  • No call Dec 29, next call Jan 5, 2018 at 9am EST.

5. Next Steps

  • CODE to send update after UNSD call tomorrow
  • USG to review and respond to Github issues (sdmx, readme, data formats)
  • CODE & USG to set up call in January on subnational reporting
  • CODE to set up call with Kali to discuss ongoing collaboration and priorities
  • CODE to send Matthias’ & Jaspreet’s info re: UNSD conference
