Auto clean logs

What problem will this feature address?

My logs were occupying half o my disk space. And I will have to delete them periodically and manually.

Auto clean logs when docker cleanup is active.

Delete the logs manually in my terminal

this should be set in your docker daemon file (will set for all containers), or for each service

  "log-driver": "json-file",
  "log-opts": {
    "max-file": "3",
    "max-size": "10m"
  }

this will auto rotate logs - note after setting this, each container would need to be rebuilt in order for the logging change to take effect

either manually or if swarm, by running

docker service update \
  --log-driver json-file \
  --log-opt max-size=10m \
  --log-opt max-file=3 \
  my-service

i do not recommend deleting logs whilst a container is running and actively writing to them

How do I do this? I have to set this to each docker image/instance? Is it possible to configure this globally?

you can set in /etc/docker/daemon.json

}

but it would only take effect

1. after restarting the docker daemon
2. on newly created containers

existing containers would need to be remade in order for docker to change the logging options

Any easy way to add this in the Dockploy UI? Or I have to dig up in the VPS terminal?

I think I got to do it with the terminal. I think Dokploy should have a configuration to make this easy and a warning on the dashboard and docs. It broke my application twice.

I did this. It worked.

Seems like it solves the problem in a more automatic way but yeah your solution could work.

And you still needed to set that code in /etc/docker/daemon.json? Isn't the button 'Daily Docker Cleanup' enough?
