Why is it necessary to generate a JXL format cache in the Thumb folder when the format of the comic image file being viewed is JPG, and the actual images viewed on the page are also in JPG format? Is this the reason for the continuous creation process, and the LRR of the JXL comic folder generated by Thumb cannot be cleared.

JXL generation and usage depends on the settings. This has nothing to do with this issue, the thumbnail folder is intended to be persistent and saved, it is not temporary.

The previous version's thumbnail folder only stored thumbnail images of comic covers. Now, the thumbnail folder will generate JXL format files for all images of each comic that has been clicked (which are all images in this comic archive, regardless of whether they have been viewed or not. This means that if all comics in the library have been clicked, the thumbnail folder will be even larger than the archive folder, which is crazy).

Thumbnails have been generated for all images since 0.9.30, they are generated when you open the archive. JXL images are only generated if the setting is enabled.

Thumbnails are lower quality and resolution, it is impossible for them to be larger than the original content.

There's no support for deleting/pruning page thumbnails for content that hasn't been read in a while so I suppose that could be a feature request..

The thumbnails themselves will barely take any space as mentioned unless you have HQ page thumbnails enabled though. (And if you have JXL enabled, which it seems like you do, it takes even less space)

Can page thumbnails be stored separately from cover thumbnails in different folders? Viewed files may not necessarily be viewed repeatedly, and cleaning page thumbnails will become easier. Now that the storage folders for page thumbnails and cover thumbnails are the same, cleaning work has become cumbersome and difficult

After updating to 0.9.6, this change did not solve the problem, and all thumbnails of the file will still be generated normally;
It didn't solve my problem. Even after clicking on the file, all thumbnails were still generated. However, the vast majority of users don't need to view the file overview like nh and eh do. Most users simply click on the file and flip through the pages until they are finished, so locally generated file thumbnails are useless except for occupying space;
Can you add a switch in the settings for users who need to view the overview to turn it on themselves? This may solve the problem.
Now that storage prices are rising, this may be a feature that most people need.
