Hi, thanks for your interest in avifgainmaputil! Could you expand a bit more on what you're trying to do? Do you want to specify a grid for the base image AND the gainmap, possibly of different sizes? Or e.g. just the base image?
Are you looking for automatic splitting? (you input one image, and it's automatically split into a grid), or are you trying to assemble a large image from existing grid images?

Edit: actually grids of different sizes are not possible with the current API. So both the base image and the gain map having the same grid size (but the gain map cells may be smaller if it's downsampled) would be the easiest to implement.

Yes, this is exactly what I am hoping for. Edit: To be more precise, specify a grid (e.g. --grid 8x6) for the base image. Then the gain map is automatically split to the same grid size, or smaller size if downsampled.
