Used DeepL, Linguee, and Vitrine linguistique (from the Office québecois de la langue française)

This PR complies with the DCO; https://developercertificate.org/

before anyone says anything, as long as a native speaker gives the entire translation a good lookover I don't mind the use of any sort of machine translation -- it's probably a good foundation to start from.

just make sure it doesn't mess up the embedded html tags, since I've seen some models do that :>

I actually didn't use an LLM for this, so on how I did it, I pretty much did this:

  • If the word is "technical", I would go to Vitrine linguistique to type in the word needed
  • If it is a regular word, put it on linguee dictionary

Then check with DeepL (translator) to see if the grammar is "correct" (not sure if DeepL is 100% correct at times as I am not a fully native french speaker since I'm an English Quebecer)

But yeah, if there's any actual French speakers, feel free to proofread my work :P

I'm a native speaker and some stuff do not fit, i'll try to see if i can review it in the github UI, but i guess i would need to see the translation inside the UI to really know

I wonder if dropping the word "binaire" would be better...

Having another opinion on this would be nice

I guess, though when I searched up "bit rate" on vitrine linguistique, they mostly say "débit binaire"

Débit binaire is definitely right, but i did not see this anywhere and it feels unnatural, i just asked one of my friend and they also agreed on just "débit", and according to her, windows also translate it like this. Adding binaire at the end is kind of not needed, as it is obvious based on the context that it is binary.

à bascule is not right here, toggle is a verb, and in french you could use "Basculer entre" i guess?

So something like Basculer entre l'affichage en liste/grille

Also vignette might be a better fit than imagette, i do not know about quebec french though, depending of what you are going for, if it is a quebec french translation, please title it accordingly.

Boutons d'action would be a better fit here maybe, depending on what it is in the UI

By the way, thanks for adding my language into copyparty, apart from the issues i noted above, i did not see anything that could not make sense, though i didnt look into it for too much time (i did not try it in the ui). You seem to be doing a good job so far.

Reviewed more of your changes, i will be sleeping right now as it is 12AM where i am, so i wont be able to review more of your work until tomorrow.

You mostly got everything right, but french is hard and have so many rules i could not even explain why those changes are needed without thinking about it for an hour, in the end what i mostly did was just moving stuff around, conjugate verbs where needed (or not), and put synonyms for some words that fitted better in this context.

chanson is fine here if we consider "song" being the correct english word... which afaik isnt. Track would fit better.

For french, you could use the word "piste", also note that chanson and piste are fminine words so you need to use derniere/prochaine, but in this context, using "piste précédente/suivante" feels better.

I have no idea how to translate this one, "sauter" is right, though the " au 0%..90%" annoys me, "sauter à 0%..90%" would be more correct.

be careful, you did a typo. But yes, it is quite long, and i can not find any shorter way to say this without it being less clear.
