one thing that has really annoyed me in vs code or intellij is that accepting a code completion while the cursor is mid word will insert the whole suggestion there and ruin the whole idea of completion. To get a better idea of what I mean, see this: Screen.Recording.2022-06-25.at.12.51.13.AM.movI love that zed is smarter and completes the word correctly. |

I enjoy how responsive Zed is to every single keystroke - writing code and taking notes in Zed is ultra satisfying. |

Lovely. Feels really smooth. What font is it that you package with the editor? Looks awesome. |

Pretty sure it is a custom font called Zed Mono, it is basically just a custom configuration of Iosevka. |

I just made the
Correct! You can build your own variant of Iosevka here: https://typeof.net/Iosevka/customizer or by creating your own |

Super great how you guys have opened up the issue list and are open to input and feedback! I can't wait for linux support and I can start using it. VScode and idea suite tools are memory hogs and extremely slow... can't wait for the responsiveness and light-weight experience that zed will deliver. |

With Zed, writing code is an absolute pleasure. Its snappy interactions and lean UI help me focus on bringing ideas into reality. Having an editor that doesn't get in your way feels like having superpowers - it's like having a thin layer between my brain and the computer. Discovering the journal was also mind-blowing; now, I have one reason less to move away from the editor, which massively helps battle context-switching. I almost entirely switched from VSCode to Zed in the past few weeks. I can use Zed for everything, but I still rely on VSCode for a few nits:

Even in the current state I'm really really REALLY happy using Zed. Everything is so lightweight and fast that I can't believe. I've turn the vim mode on and switch completely from neovim and VSCode. Thank you so much for this editor, I want to pay to use it! |

Zed shows that performance does matter. Experiencing the responsiveness and low resource requirements is like realising how nice the silence is when somebody turns off the AC |

Startup-speed and LSP's responsiveness are simply amazing and since I am a sucker for looks, I'd also like to give props for making it look and feel so polished already! (including the nice little touch with rounded selected area highlights). Love that it's not forcing me to open a "project" so I can just open random files. |

The speed is honestly amazing. I don't really use macOS and the only machine I have is really rather slow (2014 vintage mac mini). Atom or VSCodium take sometimes >30s to load, Zed pops up in less than 5. |

Just getting started with Zed. First impressions are that my other editors are crazy slow :-). The outline is a killer feature (and also surprisingly fast). Thanks! |

It's still early days using Zed for me, but I love it so much!! You've got a fan in me 🚀 Things I like already

Another feedback from me: the new release fixing the input method for international keyboards is amazing. Working fine for me with US-International layout, thank you for this! |

Here is my positive feedback. Zed, my dearest JavaScript was the napalm that could solve all problems.
JavaScript started to solve JavaScript's problems by introducing frameworks, which then needed even more help from more JavaScript cause you got to compress that stuff. JavaScript dug a very deep dark hole and build a fortress at the bottom. A fortress with massive wall, which make it a perfect echo chamber. Even if they would stack all node_modules folders, of every project, on top of eachother... you can not escape the hole. Cause with every npm install, the hole is getting deeper and maddening.
Building software that didn't rely on a browser was possible for a little while. Notepad++, Sublime Text or even Eclipse had a good run.
A little bit of Atom, some beating around the Brackets[], way too much Electrons... and before you could buy an island to escape this madness...you were stuck with Visual Studio bloat. Praise bloat! Bloat taketh and Bloat giveth: diskspace and heartache. Times are changing. TLDR; Zed is an escape from the past. It is the right idea at the right time. I don't know when keyboards will become obsolete, but until then Zed will be the most logical and sane choice forward. Unless you are a VIM user(🦢), then I'm sorry you had to read all of this 😅. I just want to add some brief positive feedback to say that the number of fixes and improvements in the latest preview release are fantastic! The sheer number of things that have been improved on is awesome! Keep up the great work! Zed is and has been my daily driver for over a year and a half and its only getting better! |

Besides Zed being absolutely fast, even on an older laptop, the people who work on Zed are for the most part extremely pleasant to interact with. While some open source projects treat bug reports and feature requests as if they were hostile criticisms, Zed personnel welcome them! ❤️❤️❤️ Besides this, I can feel the attention to UX detail when I use Zed that I miss on VS Code and its derivatives. |

Speed. I absolutely love the speed of Zed. I'm using the unofficial Windows version, and it works really well. I also use it on Linux, and it works well there. I love how it's not Electron, and it's written in a real language. I wish it could fully support C# like VS Code, because I'd happily ditch Visual Studio for work. Keep up the good work :) |

Thank you for giving me an editor that I can easily forget about and focus my attention on the project I'm working on instead Love your work <3 |

I switched to Zed now as my daily driver and it's a real joy. I don't think I've ever had a feeling of my workflow being that positively affected by an IDE since the very first Intellij IDEA came along to replace Eclipse. Fantastic work really. It feels like an incredible polished product. Thanks a lot for building it! |

I love the lightweight remote mode -- I use it daily to develop on very small remote nodes with 512MB RAM, where much of it is already taken by the target application. It would be even cooler if there was some kind of even tighter remote mode with limited functionality or higher latency maybe. This is a killer feature that makes me to switch from that other IDE. Both small disk footprint and small RAM footprint on the remote machine, while providing ZED navigation, editor, and bash console, is essential. |

The addition of Helix Bindings, made me completely jump ship. Zed is way more polished than last time I tried, congrats to the team!! {
"context": "BufferSearchBar",
"bindings": {
"Enter": "buffer_search::FocusEditor && buffer_search::Dismiss"
}
} The leftover highlight of this property: I would love the bufferSearchBar to autodismiss when on Vim/Helix Mode. Remember modal editor users go to the next match by pressing |

I don't know if people use GitHub Copilot with Zed often, but it works even better than it does on plain ol' VSCode |

I wanted to drop a quick thank you for the amazing Nix support. Getting a dev environment up and running to test some changes was a piece of cake. I was running a locally built Zed with just a couple of commands! It was awesome! Also, thank you for the fantastic work on AI. I spent a couple of weeks trying to get AI support set up in nvim but it was challenging and I ran in to a lot of hurdles. Switching to Zed let me keep all the things I love about nvim while allowing me to get started using AI in minutes. From one developer to another, thank you for making my life easier ❤️ |

Finally a glorious code editor that is not based on clunky web browsing technology! I've even started to learn Rust due to how impressed I am with Zed's performance. Finished the rustlings tutorials yesterday! |

Ok, I've found where I can say how much I've been LOVING Zed! So fast it makes my Mac feel ALIVE again! Running Zed - my Mac feels as though it's on meth! (Please quote that on your customer page!) Hahahaha I'm really enjoying my new home in Zed! Bravo team! The claude code integration is to DIE for! And when I've killed my 5 hour limit I switch to claude-sonnet-4 and use my 150 prompts (should be 500 I'm a subscriber - but probably still in the free trial period). Zed has taken me from a $200/month Cursor subscription to two $20/month subscriptions (zed & claude.ai). BRILLIANT TEAM! Thank you very much! <3 |

I use it for performance, and it's lighter than VS Code, and its memory usage is better than VS Code. And I don't have to deal with Copilot crap. |
