Support for MacOS 15.4?

Love this app as it fixes a major inherent issue with Mac OS. However it doesn't seem to be working on MacOS 15.4. Any one else having same issue?

yes not working at all after latest update and can't find a fix anywhere.

Just deleted app, updated to Seq. 15.4 today, reinstalled, opened it and cannot find a trace of it anywhere except finder. When I try to delete the app it says I can't because it is open, yet it is not functioning nor visible in dock or status bar or anywhere.

v1.1 isn't working for me either after upgrading to Sequoia 15.4 release.
Had the v1.1 from January 2025.
Saw there was a new build, or just redesignation, and reinstalled it.
Still doesn't work.
Hope a fix is coming soon.

FWIW, I noticed something new and strange with Apple Music today. Wondering if it's a problem with Sequoia 15.4 since I haven't seen this behavior before; maybe related why v1.1 stopped working?

1. Playing a hi-res lossless track in Apple's Relax playlist, and checking the ~ icon to see the quality it said Lossless 24bit/48khz at first, with a subhead line saying "Also available in high resolution lossless". Weird. See screenshot.
2. After a few seconds the Apple stream switched to Hi-Res Lossless 24bit/96khz.
3. Lossless Switcher 1.0 lagged in detecting this but eventually switched to 96khz
4. But, then later in the same track Lossless Switcher 1.0 switched to 44.1 redbook
5. I repeated this a few times since I hadn't noticed this before and it was consistent.

Questions:

1. Lossless file quality switch:
   Has Apple Music changed its adaptive streaming methods?

2. Sample rate shift to redbook:
   Is this an known issue with Lossless Switcher v1.0?
   Was my cable broadband+paid fast VPN connection this AM? I don't think so, all tests nominal.
   I tested on a 3 other 24/96 tracks and this also happened: shifted to rebook, shifted to 48khz, while the tracks were still 96khz.

To answer your questions:

1. I don't know about the inner workings of the Apple Music app.
2. While it is known that LS v1.0 is less accurate and more fickle when it comes to switching and detection, there should not be any reason that causes Apple Music to switch streams of different quality, as LS only reads logs written by the Apple Music app, and does not directly interfere with the app's operations. Have you tried if it happens without LS running? That might give a clue to your first question, if it does.

@danlatorre, are you noticing the behavior where Apple Music will start from 24b/48hz for the first time? Strangely for me it has been like this from day one of high res music launch from apple. I'm at 500mbps line with 3ms of ping time.

In fact, just to avoid LS to change the rate twice, I have entire 300GB of library downloaded on streaming Mac in highest quality available.

Regards LS Switching to 48 while track was still playing at 96, I have noticed that version 1 would switch to next track's rate as soon as pre-load of current track finishes.

Apple Music typically pre-loads next track in queue while current track is already playing. I have seen that LS V1.0 would switch to next track's rate as soon as it starts loading. Worth checking, when you are listening to 96hz track, is the next in queue at 48\44.1

I cant get 1.0 version to work properly either. It switches around all over the place during the same song.

I'm a new user, and wasn't able to get any version of 1.1.1, including the latest 2 betas to work. I read somewhere that version 1.0 worked for someone and so tried that... and it does.

Seems strange that v1.1.1b2 would be less compatible than v1.0 but it is for me.

Hoping for a compatible version soon.

Yeah same issues here on Sequoia 15.4.1.

Version 1.0 works to an extent but none of the newer releases switch.

Just wanna to try LosslessSwitcher on Mac OS 15.4 but no luck. Hope it will update soon.

I am running Sequoia 15.4.1 and have tried several versions of Lossless Switcher, including the very latest 1.1.1 as well as the original version. None of them seem to be auto detecting the coding rate and adjusting the Midi player. If I manually change the rate on the Midi player the Lossless Switcher app will show the change. But it is not auto switching based on music tracks. I tried one version (forgot which one, but it may be the latest 1.1.1 build) and the player icon did not appear anywhere in the top menu. But if I try to delete the app I get a warning that it’s running. So to delete it I needed to first remove Lossless Switcher from the Login and Startup items list, then reboot.

I wanted to add to this that v1.0 is working for me (for the most part). On 15.4.1 with Universal Audio Apollo x4. the newer builds including 1.1.1 still do not work.

I can confirm that using 1.0 works on MacOS 15.4.1 (24E263) while 1.1 does not.

It does work but it is not as reliable as 1.1 when it was working.

My suggestion is to run the 1.0.0 version for now. Its mostly working for me with a few minor hiccups.

Same issue for me on 1.1 with Mac OS 15.5 (24F74). App doesnt switch when stream changes in Apple Music.
Installed version 1.0 and it's working fine.

On 1.0 I get a blank setting page and on some tunes the bitrate switches (to an incorrect number) towards the end (final 25% perhaps) of the tune.

I am running 15.5 and v2.0beta and the app does not do any switching unfortunately. It stays at 44.1 no matter what the sample rate of the track I am playing is. all my tracks are lossless local files. It is also very laggy when I click on it. Thank you for all your work on this! Greatly appreciated!

I am running 15.5 on v2.0 beta and it works fine for me. I am on a M1 Macbook Pro if that is at all helpful.

I'm also finding the latest beta to not make any switches. I'm not using local files, because I believe there is a whole thread about how that's not supported because of legacy issues with Apple Music playback of local files.

Even if I start the app with my output set to something other than 44.1, and then play a 44.1 file, the app knows the device is receiving 96, but doesn't change at all.

In summary, the beta doesn't do anything on my system - M3 Max MacBook Pro running 15.5.

Oh, I also noticed that there is no quit option in this beta; I had to use Activity Monitor to quit the app.
