Update from FC42 to 43 breaks dead keys on Terminal with DK layout

Describe the bug

Most notably, the ~ (tilde) character is no longer generated in the Terminal application, when using AltGr + tilde button using a standard DK keyboard layout (pc105).

Other applications like Kate are producing the tilde character as usual.
Please note that none of the two dead keys produce any of their supposed characters;
i just mentioned tilde because that's the one I use all of the time...

Having to have Kate open so I can copy-paste it into the Terminal becomes tedious real fast.

What did you expect to happen?

I think that's pretty obvious...

can not replicate this.
i went into my settings and added the danish keyboard and dead keys worked fine for me (conveniently the danish layout is very similar to the norwegian layout)

I think this is the same bug as #3394. Seems like it only happens in Ptyxis on KDE Plasma?

A quick clarification. Ptyxis is the name of the terminal used in Bazzite. So it's the same thing as the terminal.

I think it might be because the patch @KyleGospo committed (967f8f6) seemingly doesn't apply to that kde-ptyxis shell script.

EDIT: It seems like my shortcut was customized. I just did a quick fresh install of Bazzite on a VM just to see the current defaults, and it looks like that kde-ptyxis shell script isn't even used anymore. Is that intended?
The shortcut now points to ptyxis instead of kde-ptyxis, but it still doesn't work for me. It is as if that environment variable doesn't actually get passed to Ptyxis when using the Application Launcher, Task Manager or the assigned hotkey. Short video demonstrating the problem:

Right clicking on the desktop (or in Dolphin) and selecting the terminal from there or entering GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus ptyxis -s from within Ptyxis does successfully pass the environment variable to Ptyxis for me.
I did notice two oddities...

Ptyxis seems to have two desktop files. org.gnome.Prompt.desktop references kde-ptyxis, but doesn't seem to do anything?

Ptyxis (Terminal) appears twice in Default Applications (which is which?)
Could this be related?

I tested testing-43.20251120.2 (with this commit f38b5ca) and the issue remains.

To me it seems like the Exec line in org.gnome.Ptyxis.desktop is being ignored whenever it is run directly instead of through the Dolphin shortcuts.

I also tried copying org.gnome.Ptyxis.desktop into ~/.local/share/applications and edited it to replace Exec=kde-ptyxis with Exec=kate and it exhibited the same behaviour. Opening the terminal in Dolphin opens Kate instead like expected, but running the .desktop in any other way opens Ptyxis without GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus.

The bug still persists for me on stable-43.20251127. kde-ptyxis doesn't get called and GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus doesn't get set when starting Ptyxis from the Application Launcher, just as it was pointed out in the post above. I made sure org.gnome.Ptyxis.desktop wasn't customized.

To add on to this, I think this might be a deeper issue with Plasma or something else.

When a .desktop shortcut is specifically named org.gnome.Ptyxis.desktop and you run it (either from Task Manager, Application Launcher, global keyboard shortcut, or by double-clicking it in Dolphin) it will completely ignore Exec=kde-ptyxis and instead run ptyxis directly and thus does not get any of the extra options/arguments.

If you rename org.gnome.Ptyxis.desktop to anything else like test.desktop it will respect Exec=kde-ptyxis and work as expected. It seems this filename specifically overrides Exec for whatever reason.

Again, you can demonstrate behaviour more clearly by replacing Exec=kde-ptyxis with something unrelated like Exec=kate.
