Need to transfer fork repo contributions from one account to another

I have doubts. I forked an open-source repo with my work account email and am now deleting an email. Still, before that, I need to transfer my available contributions from my work account to my personal GitHub account. I also tried to transfer that repo, but it gives me an error Sorry, this repository transfer can’t be finished. Is there any other way to transfer my contributions to my account?

1. Clone the forked repository to your local machine using Git.
2. Navigate into the cloned repository directory and add the original repository as a remote.
3. Fetch the changes from the original repository and merge them into your local clone.
4. Push the changes to your personal GitHub account.
5. Delete the old forked repository.

By following these steps, you can transfer the code and its associated commit history to your personal GitHub account.

Transferring the repository won't help with assigning the contributions to another account (though it might still be useful to continue work on it). If you want the contributions to appear on your personal account, you actually need to add the email address to that account. It shouldn't matter if you can't verify it (for example because the address has been deleted).

If the transfer itself just won't work, you can file a bug with GitHub support or (if you don't care about losing issues, PRs, stars, etc.) create a new repository in your account and push your existing repository there (the latter is basically what @joanaleoni described, but you need'd to create the new repository first).
