Tables......Can anyone give me any compreensive guide how to make them?

I saw that in the emacs org mode the table feature is really simple and also interactive, i.e. it adjusts column sizes automatically.
There is no documentation that I'm able to find in their wiki on github or in the Neorg help file. I want that feature so bad....

Currently I am just doing tables like this

@table
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd |
|-----|-----|-----|
| any | any | any |
@end

Am I missing something?
And if anyone can help with making the rich table maker thing human legible, then it is also appreciated by me.
