In usual browsers, it is scroll click to close tab.
In Firefox (dev edition), scroll clicking the new tab button will open New Tab to the Right.
Scrolling is usually scroll tab bar left and right.
Since closing a tab is sort of a destructive operation, I don't think it should be associated with something like scroll down. Preferably, use a key bind shared by other browsers like scroll click.
