Error when try to update vcpkg in manifest mode

Hi I'm trying to update and upgrade the libraries in vcpkg and when I update de baseline in mi vcpkg-configuration.json I get an error when try to find repositories.

The steps I follow has been:

1. vcpkg x-update-baseline
2. vcpkg install

and here I get this message

Is a error of the version or I'm doing wrong?

Do you use vcpkg from Visual Studio? It may be too old.

Building some ports relies on the environment provided by MSYS2. It is a rolling distribution of tools from the POSIX world. Binary packages are removed app. 18 months after an MSYS2 update ATM. Either update vcpkg, or keep your own cache/copies of the packages.

But If I try to update vcpkg adding to the vcpkg_configuration a new commit from vcpkg github didn't have to be updated the new packages?
After I removed my packages now I can't install anything and the problem is I didn't have copies of the packages. And If I try to go back to the previous commit of vcpkg I had the same problem. What can I do?

AFAICT there is

• unversioned scripts (e.g. providing msys2): using the current revision of your vcpkg directory. (New revision must not break building old ports!)
• baseline: the default (minimum) version for ports
• version>=: selecting newer versions of ports
• override: choosing arbitrary versions of ports
• overlay ports: completely overriding version selection

Updating the baseline (second point) won't provide updated scripts IIUC. You must update the git checkout.

With significant updates to the scripts (first point), you will probably see a rebuild of packages even for unchanged versions because ABI hashes are invalidated.

Managing asset caching / backup of downloads is probably essential for building the same configuration over extended periods of time.

Normally update some libraries is a complex task so we try to no do it all of them at same time. Well we know how to work whith vcpkg now.

I tried to elaborate that there is the difference between the unversioned scripts ("acquire msys") and versioned ports ("libraries").

i.e. it is not "update all the libraries at the last version or we are the responsable to get a back up of the libraries."

But I believe that every user has a responsibility to implement proper asset caching, for fair use of upstream resources and for long-term stability.
